Do you have one or more missing teeth due to injury, decay, or another reason? Would you like to close the space caused by those missing teeth? If so, a dental bridge may be the solution.
A dental bridge is a fixed prosthetic device used to literally bridge the space created by one or more missing teeth. It consists of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the space- called abutment teeth- with a false tooth (or teeth) in between. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants.
Benefits of A Dental Bridge
*Restore the ability to properly chew and speak
*Maintain the shape of your face
*Distribute the forces in your bite properly by replacing missing teeth
*Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position
*Improve your smile
What is the process for getting a dental bridge? On the first visit, the abutment teeth are prepared by removing a thin layer of enamel to allow room for the crown. Next, an impression is made which will serve as a model from which the bridge will be made. Dr. Argo skillfully and expertly creates all bridge work in his own on-site dental lab with only special exceptions made to send out work to an alternate lab. A temporary bridge will be made for you to wear while waiting for the permanent bridge to be created. During the second visit, your new permanent bridge will be adjusted and cemented into place.
With good oral hygiene and regular checkups, a dental bridge can last 5-15 years and even longer. For more information on dental bridges, call us today at 901-685-8228.
